372 jailed in Chandpur for defying hilsa fishing ban 
As many as 372 fishermen were arrested by law enforcers in Chandpur for defying the ongoing temporary ban on hilsa fishing for 21 days. 

The river police arrested 172 fishermen while 200 fishermen were nabbed by the district and upazila task force.

Farhana Akhtar Ruma, Assistant Fisheries Officer at the district fisheries office, and HM Iqbal, the officer in charge (OC) of Chandpur River Police Station confirmed the matter on Saturday (November 2). 

 
 
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday (Nov 3) forecasted mainly dry weather across the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 9 this morning.
“Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country”, it said.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added. 

Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 34.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla and minimum temperature today was 20.1 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

No rainfall was reported today.
